South Indian Fertilizers

Our factory is located in the Industrial Development Area over in Edayar. It is the kind of place where someone is always building something or moving big loads of materials. We focus on making fertilizers here, which means there is always a very specific and strong scent in the air around the gates. Most visitors find it a bit overwhelming at first, but those of us who work here don't even notice it anymore. The machinery is quite loud and it runs for most of the day and sometimes into the night. We have to wear heavy work boots and thick gloves because the work is gritty and messy. We spend our hours mixing ingredients and making sure the bags are filled up to the right weight before they are sewn shut. The floor stays covered in a layer of fine dust no matter how often we try to sweep it out. It is an industrial way of life, with trucks constantly coming in for pickups or dropping off raw materials. We have a small room in the back where we sit to eat our lunch and get away from the noise of the machines for a bit. The walls have some stains and the paint is starting to peel, but we don't mind because the equipment is what matters. We just keep the production line moving and get the bags out to the trucks that wait outside.
