Kinnour Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are based up in Reckong Peo, which is right in the heart of Kinnaur. Our office is inside Labrang Niwas, and we are situated directly opposite the DIET building. It is a good spot for us because everyone in town knows where that is. We are the Kinnour Farmers Producer Company Limited. Most of the people working here are local farmers themselves from Tehsil Kalpa. We spend our days worrying about the weather and the orchards. Our office isn't anything corporate or polished. It is just a regular house where we have set up some desks and chairs. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the apple crops or whatever else is growing that season. The post office is close by, which helps with the documents. In the winter, the snow gets really deep here, and everything slows down. We don't have a marketing team or big budgets. We just try to help each other out with the farming business. It’s a collective effort, really. Sometimes the mountain roads are a mess, so we just have to wait it out. We aren't trying to be some big, fancy company. We are just a group of neighbors trying to make things work better for the local growers. If you drop by, you will likely find us discussing the latest prices or planning the next harvest. It is a very simple, grounded way of doing things.
