Maithan Ispat Linited

Our company, Maithan Ispat Linited, is located out in Odagaon, which is in the Nayagarh district of Orissa. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but this is where the work is. Being in a place like Po Odagaon means we’re far away from the big city noise. We deal with iron and steel, so it’s a heavy industry type of environment. The air is different here, and the pace of life is a bit slower than in Bhubaneswar. We have a lot of people from the local area working with us. The work is physically demanding and it gets quite hot in the summers, but that’s just how it is in this part of Orissa. Our office is practical, nothing more than what we need to keep the records straight. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy facade. We just focus on the production and making sure the loads go out on time. The roads around Nayagarh can be a bit rough, but we’re used to the trucks coming and going. Most of us have lived in this region for our whole lives, so we know the land and the people well. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We don’t have much in the way of a marketing team; we just let the work speak for itself. It’s a lot of grit and daily effort to keep things moving along even when the equipment acts up.
