Our company is based at 518/44D in Maheshpur, over in the Kumbhi Gola area. We work out of Bavita Devi’s place in Gola, Kheri. Inwaanyan Nagri Organic Farmers Producer Company Limited is a bit of a long name, but we are just a small group of local farmers at heart. Kheri is a place where almost everyone knows someone who works the land for a living. We decided to get together because we wanted to focus on organic methods and help each other out with the selling and storage part of the job. It’s a quiet area for the most part, and our office is just a simple room where we handle all the registration and logistics for the group. We spend our days either out in the fields checking the plants or sitting around the desk trying to make sense of the new government regulations. It’s not a high-tech operation with fancy gadgets. We use what we have and try to do the best for the families living in Maheshpur. Sometimes it’s hard to get everything lined up, especially with the seasonal changes and the rain, but we manage to get by. We aren’t interested in looking like a big polished business with a lot of money. We just want to be a reliable place for the local producers to come together and work as one.
