Elecon Engineering Company Limited is based in Vallabh and uses Post Box 6 for all the mail. Our site is a large one, filled with the kind of heavy machinery you’d expect at an engineering place. It’s not a quiet office environment; it’s a place where there is always something being moved or welded. The air smells a bit like iron and grease, and the sound of the shop floor is something we’ve all grown used to. We have a lot of different sections for different parts of the work, and it takes a while to walk from one end to the other. Most of our staff have been here for a long time and they know exactly how the machines behave. We don't have any flashy signs or modern glass buildings. Our walls are brick and our floors are hard concrete. We spend our time checking tolerances and making sure the engineering parts are right. It’s a lot of manual work mixed with some technical oversight. We take our breaks together and talk about the work or what’s going on in Vallabh. We don't have a team of people to handle the marketing; we just focus on the engineering. When a big order is finished, there’s a real feeling of getting things done as we watch the trucks leave the gate. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day after day, without any unnecessary fuss.
