Vikas Engineering

Our workshop is situated at Plot No. C-1/b, 517 in Phase-1 of the GIDC. Being in Phase-1 means we’ve been around the block a few times; this part of the estate has a lot of history. The building itself is older, with some wear and tear on the walls, but the machines inside are kept in good shape. We do a lot of mechanical engineering work here, mostly focusing on repair and small-batch production. There’s always the scent of grease and coolant in the air, which you get used to after a week. My desk is covered in scribbled notes and old invoices that I need to file eventually. We have a small crew, and everyone knows their role, so things usually run smoothly without much fuss. If a machine breaks down, we all huddle around to figure out how to get it running again as fast as possible. We don't have a big sign out front, just the plot number painted on the gate. It’s a practical setup for practical people. Sometimes the neighbors drop by to borrow a tool or just to chat for five minutes. We stay pretty busy throughout the week, and by Saturday afternoon, we’re all ready to clean up and head home to our families. It’s a simple life, focused on precision and getting the job done right. There’s no magic to it, just keeping the equipment humming and the customers satisfied.
