Tejaswini Vermi Compost

Out here in Muthagudem, things move a bit slower than the city. We are at Sy No 68/Ee in Khammam Rural Mandal. Our business is vermi compost. It’s basically working with the earth and the worms to make something useful for the soil. It is very hands-on work. You are dealing with organic stuff all day, so your hands are rarely clean. It doesn’t bother us, though. It’s part of the life. We have the pits set up and we have to monitor them to make sure everything is breaking down like it should. It’s a quiet kind of job, mostly. You spend a lot of time outside in the fresh air, which is a nice thing about being in the rural parts of Khammam. Pin-507003 is the area. We sell to farmers mostly, people who know what good compost looks like. It takes time to make it right; you can’t really rush the worms. We’ve got a small team, and we all know the routine of turning the piles and checking the moisture. It’s not a glamorous business, but it’s honest work. The smell of the earth is always around us. Sometimes the weather is too dry and we have to water more. We just keep an eye on things and let nature do most of the heavy lifting while we provide the space. It is a good way to stay connected to the land while helping things grow for the next season.
