Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Rice And General Stores is situated at 1-86, Sarapaka, right near the Indian ATM. Having the ATM nearby is actually quite helpful because people often stop there and then realize they need something from our shop. As the name says, we deal with a lot of rice. There are heavy gunny bags stacked up against the walls, and the smell of raw grain is pretty much everywhere. It’s hard work hauling those bags around, especially when the weather in Sarapaka gets really hot and sticky. Aside from the rice, we keep all the general items like oils, lentils, and basic household stuff. The shop is deep and narrow, so we have to be careful how we pile things up so nothing falls over. We don't have any computers here; everything is done by hand. We recognize most of the people who come in because they’ve been living in this part of Sarapaka for years. Sometimes we sit on the steps out front when it’s quiet, just watching the people go to the ATM and back. It’s a humble setup, nothing flashy at all. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but everyone knows who we are. We just focus on keeping the bags filled and the shelves stocked so nobody has to go far to find their daily essentials. It’s just a regular, working-class shop.
