Sai Vermi Compost

Out here in Muthagudem Village, things move a bit slower than in the city. Our place is at Sy No. 82/Aa in Khammam Rural Mandal. We deal with soil and worms all day. It’s dirty work, but it feels right being out in the fields. The air smells like wet earth and decomposing leaves most of the time. We spend hours turning the piles and making sure the moisture is just right for the vermicompost. You have to have a bit of patience for this kind of thing. The village life is quiet, except for the occasional tractor passing by on the road to Khammam. We’ve got some sheds set up to keep the sun off the pits. It’s not a high-tech operation, just some basic tools and a lot of manual labor. My boots are always covered in mud by the time I head home. The farmers around here know us and drop by to talk about their crops. We usually have a bit of tea and sit on the benches near the gate. It’s a simple life at the farm. We don't have any big marketing plans or fancy logos on our shirts. We just focus on the compost and hope the weather stays good. The 507003 area is home to us and we've been working this land for years now. It gets hard when the rains are too heavy, but we manage to keep the pits covered and the worms safe through the season.
