Our mill is located in Payyampally village, which falls under the Nelakondapalli Mandal area. Padmawati Srinivasa Parboiled Industry has been part of this district for a long time. It is a rural setting, so things are usually quiet until the harvest season kicks in. When that happens, the whole place changes and it becomes very busy with tractors and trucks coming in from the surrounding fields. We handle the parboiling process, which involves a lot of heat and steam. It is not an easy environment to work in all day, but we are used to the smell of soaking grain and the sound of the boilers. The building itself is just a large, practical space designed to hold a lot of rice. We don't have a fancy reception area or any of those modern office features. There is usually a layer of grain dust on everything, and we wear simple clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. Most of the farmers who bring their crops to us are people we have known for years. We sit and have a tea while we talk about the weather or how the crops are looking this year. It is a local life, tied to the land and the seasons. We just try to keep the machines running and the process moving along so that everyone can get their work finished. It is a straightforward existence out here in the village, away from the big cities.
