About Kanakadurga Cotton Mills – Agriculture & Farming in Khammam
Kanakadurga Cotton Mills is right on the Main Road, specifically at Survey No. 106 105. Being on the main road means we see a lot of traffic passing by, mostly trucks and motorcycles. It gets a bit noisy with the horns honking outside, but we’re used to the racket. Our mill isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a big structure with some old gates. Inside, though, it’s always moving. We have different sections for the different stages of the cotton, and people are always scurrying between them. The floor is usually covered in some bit of fiber, no matter how much we sweep it up. We have a small office at the front where we keep the books and take calls, but most of the time you’ll find the staff out on the floor. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is humid, but it’s what we know. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just talk to the people who come to the gate. If someone needs to find us, they just look for the big sign near the survey plot. The work doesn't stop for much, except maybe for a tea break in the afternoon when things settle down. It’s a simple life running a mill here, and we just keep at it day after day without making too much of a fuss about the long hours.
