Our place is in Tatipudi Village, out in the Wyra Mandal area. It’s a bit out of the way compared to the big city offices, but that’s where our trucks are. We operate from H No 3-70, which is basically where we grew up. The yard is mostly dirt, so it gets pretty muddy when it rains, making it a bit of a mess to get the vehicles out. We spend our days coordinating where the loads are going and making sure the drivers have enough fuel. It is a lot of phone calls back and forth. Sometimes we have to go out ourselves if a truck breaks down on the road. We don't have any fancy software to track things; we mostly use notebooks and our memory. The family is involved in almost everything we do here. You’ll often see us sitting outside under the tree when the weather is nice, talking to the drivers before they head out on a long haul. It’s a quiet life in the village until the engines start up early in the morning. We know the routes through the district like the back of our hands. The village life is slow, but transport is anything but slow. We’re always watching the clock to make sure things arrive when they’re supposed to. When the harvest season comes, everything gets much busier and we barely have time to sit down for a proper meal. It is hard work, but it is what we know.
