Rny Brick Factory

Rny Brick Factory is located in Ward No-10 of Pasraha Village. We are under the Mohaddipur Post Office in the Gogri Block. It’s a rural spot, mostly surrounded by fields and dirt paths. We spend our days out in the open, working with the clay and the kilns. The fire has to stay at a certain heat, so someone is always watching it through the night. It’s hot, sweaty work, especially in the summer months when the sun is high. We live and work right here. The village life is slow, but the work at the factory is pretty constant. We make the bricks, let them dry in the sun, and then fire them up in the kiln. You can see the smoke from the chimney from quite a distance. We don't have a lot of machinery, so a lot of it is done by hand with shovels and molds. My hands are calloused from years of doing this. We sell to the people in the surrounding villages who are building small houses or walls for their property. Sometimes the roads get muddy during the monsoon and no trucks can get in or out for a week. Then we just sit and wait for the ground to dry. We are just a small local outfit trying to make enough bricks for the season. There are no big meetings, just the daily cycle of digging and burning. It’s what we know how to do.
