Mahaveer Bricks Industries

Village Devka is where we set everything up. It is out in Taluka Chautham, which is a bit of a drive if you are not from around this part of the country. We have the space we need for the Mahaveer Bricks Industries yard out here. It is mostly just long rows of bricks and the machines we use for mixing. The post office is nearby in Devka too. We spend most of our hours out in the dirt and the heat. It is definitely not a clean job. There is dust on everything and when it rains, the ground gets real sloppy and difficult to walk on. We just keep our heads down and get through the daily work. The village is quiet for the most part, except when the tractors are loading up to head out to a construction site. We try to get the heavy lifting done early before the sun gets too high and the heat gets bad. Some days are much longer than others, especially when we have a big batch coming out of the fire. There is not any corporate stuff going on here. We do not use computers for much, just keep track of the loads in a simple ledger. It is a basic operation. My work clothes are always stained with that red brick dust. That is just how it is when you work at a brick place in the village.
