Akhandalamani Marbels

We are located right across from the Evening College in Jangapuda village. If you are driving on the NH-6 in Kendrapara district, you can’t really miss us. My family has been running Akhandalamani Marbels here for quite a while now. It’s a busy spot because of the highway, so there is always noise from the trucks and buses passing by all day and night. We spend most of our time out in the yard or sitting in the small office trying to keep the dust off the ledgers. Working with marble is heavy work, and it gets pretty hot out here during the summer months. We mostly deal with people from the nearby villages who are building their first homes or maybe just fixing up a bathroom. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that, just a few of us who know the stones well enough to tell you what’s what. Sometimes the college students walk by and look at the slabs, but mostly it's contractors and local guys. We try to keep a decent variety of stuff, but it depends on what we can get delivered from the quarries. The rain sometimes slows things down because the yard gets a bit muddy, but we manage. It’s just a normal local business trying to keep things going day by day. We like being part of the Kendrapara community and seeing the houses go up around here.
