Mallesh Textiles Unit-ii

This is our second unit, Mallesh Textiles Unit-ii. We’re located in Shed No G-4 over in Kattedan Village. It’s part of the industrial estate area in Rajendranagar Mandal. Ranga Reddy District is a big place, but this corner is mostly factories and warehouses. Our shed is just a big open space where we have the machines running. It gets quite loud when everything is switched on at once. There’s a lot of dust from the fabric, so we keep the big doors open for air. Sy. No 48 is the plot number if you’re looking on a map. It’s not the prettiest place to work, but it’s where the production happens. We’ve got a small area for the staff to sit, but mostly everyone is on the floor. The roads around here can be pretty rough, especially for the lorries coming in to pick up the textiles. We don’t have a sign out front, just the shed number. It’s strictly industrial. We spend our time checking the looms and making sure the threads aren't breaking. It’s a long day, starting early before the sun gets too hot. We don’t do any selling from here; it’s all about making the cloth. It’s just how an industrial unit works. We usually have a big water cooler by the entrance because it gets incredibly dry in the afternoons. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch. We also have a small room for storing the raw thread before it goes on the machines. It’s noisy and dusty but it’s our daily work.
