Shakti Vidhya Mandir Higher Secondary School

Shakti Vidhya Mandir is located in Ward No 5 on Katarkana Road. We are a higher secondary school right here in Katni. The building is a familiar sight for anyone living in this part of town. We have students from primary ages all the way up to the older ones finishing their schooling. It’s a big responsibility and the days are long. We start early when the sun is still low. The classrooms have wooden desks and benches that have seen many years of use. We don't go for anything too fancy or modern. It’s a traditional school where we focus on the syllabus. The teachers are mostly locals who have been with us for a long time. There is a lot of chatter during the breaks, and the playground gets quite dusty when the kids are running around. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many students, it’s a constant task. The office is usually open for anyone who needs to ask a question. We don't use much technology, mostly just chalk and talk. It works for us and the families here. Sometimes we have small events in the courtyard, and the whole neighborhood can hear the music or the speeches. It’s just how life is on Katarkana Road. We’re part of the local fabric here in Katni. Every year we see a new group of graduates leave, and it makes us realize how long we've been here.
