Govt. Tilak P.G. College

The college is right there on the Katni-Shadol Road. If you are driving out of Katni, you can’t really miss the old buildings. We’ve been here for a long time, and the place has seen many seasons come and go. It gets pretty dusty out on the main road, but inside the gates, it stays a bit quieter. Most students come from the villages nearby or just across the town. They take the bus or walk from the station. We have these big trees that give some shade when the sun gets really hot in the afternoon. The classrooms are basic, just the usual benches and boards. It is a government place, so things move at their own pace. There is always someone sitting on the steps or talking near the gate. Sometimes the power goes out, and everyone just waits it out. It is not fancy, just a place for people to get their degrees and move on with life. People know us because we’ve been part of the Katni landscape for decades. You see the same faces every morning, and the tea stall guy across the road knows most of the staff. It is just a regular spot for learning. We don't have big signs or anything. The walls could use some paint, but the work gets done anyway. Every year new faces show up and the old ones leave for jobs. That is just how it goes here. The canteen is small but it serves decent tea.
