Hisam Trading

Hisam Trading is based in Village Katihar, which is part of the Barari Tehsil. If you are looking for us, you have to head towards P.O. Sosichat. It’s a very rural area and the roads aren’t always the best, especially during the monsoon season when the puddles get deep. We operate out of a modest building that has been here for a long time. There are fields all around us and the air is much cleaner than what you find in the bigger districts. We don't have a lot of staff, just enough people to make sure the trading gets done properly. Most of the people we deal with are local folks from the surrounding villages. We keep our records in big ledgers and spend a lot of time sitting on the porch talking to visitors. It’s a different pace of life out here. We don’t have high-speed internet or anything like that, so we rely on the old ways of doing things. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few hours, so we just wait it out. It’s a practical way of living and we don’t mind it one bit. Our name is well-known around Sosichat because we have been reliable neighbors for years. We handle the trading of various goods that come through this part of the district. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is necessary for the people living in these villages. We just keep at it every day.
