Poochakkad Madrasa

We have been here at Poochakkad Madrasa for quite some time now, right along National Highway 17 in Pallikere. It is a busy spot with all the cars going by, but inside it stays pretty focused. Most of us grew up around here in Kasaragod and now we spend our days teaching the kids who come in every morning. It is not a big fancy place, just some classrooms where we go over the lessons and make sure everyone is keeping up with their studies. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and we just try to keep the fans going so the children can concentrate better. We see a lot of the same families year after year, which is nice because you get to know everyone in the neighborhood. Usually, the kids arrive early, some walking and some getting dropped off, and then the whole building fills up with noise until class starts. We do our best to keep things organized, even though sometimes it feels a bit chaotic when everyone is talking at once. The building itself has seen better days but it serves its purpose for the community. We are just local people trying to pass on what we know to the younger generation. It is a simple life here in Kasaragod, and we are glad to be a part of it, helping out where we can along this stretch of the highway.
