If you head out towards Bekal Fort in Kasargod, you’ll find us in Periya. We are at 16/365, Thaivalappil. Kanhangad Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is the name, but we are just a small team. Being near the fort means we get some tourists passing by, but we are more focused on the dirt and the plants than the sightseeing. Our office is pretty basic. We have a few computers that are a bit slow and a lot of folders stacked up on the shelves. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town, but we like it out here. The air is a bit saltier because we are near the coast. We deal with all the local agro issues, mostly helping farmers get their products ready for the market. It’s a lot of phone calls and sitting around waiting for trucks to arrive. Sometimes we have meetings that last way too long because everyone has a different opinion on how things should be done. We don't have a dress code, so most of us just wear whatever is comfortable for a day of work. It’s a practical place for practical people. We aren't looking to expand into some giant corporation. We just want to do right by the farmers in the Kanhangad area. It’s a lot of work, but it feels good when a season goes well for everyone and the harvest is healthy.
