V L Tex

V L Tex is a small operation we run out of unit 3 in the Bhuvana Apartment building over in Anna Nagar. It might seem a bit unusual to have a textile business in an apartment complex, but it works for us. We use the space to store our fabrics and handle the orders that come in from local tailors and shops. Anna Nagar is a busy neighborhood, so there is always something going on outside our windows. We have rolls of cloth stacked up against the walls, and the smell of new cotton is everywhere. It’s mostly just family members helping out here. We spend our days measuring out lengths of fabric and packing them up for delivery. It’s a lot of folding and lifting, which keeps us in shape I suppose. We don't have a big storefront with mannequins or bright lights. Most people who buy from us already know what they want before they even walk through the door. We keep things simple and try to stay organized, even when the apartment feels a bit small for all the stock we have. It’s a quiet way to make a living and we get to stay close to home.
