Sreeraam Impex

Our office is at 41, Periyar Nagar Extension. It’s a fairly quiet street compared to the main road, which is nice for a change. Sreeraam Impex is a small operation, mostly just me and two other guys. We have a couple of rooms filled with samples and some old desks we bought second-hand. There’s a small garden out front that we try to keep alive, but the heat usually gets to it. We spend most of the day checking emails and making sure the export papers are in order. It’s a lot of back and forth with the customs agents and the shipping lines. Sometimes the boxes arrive damaged and we have to spend the whole afternoon sorting through them to see what’s salvageable. We have a small stove in the back to heat up our lunch. The neighbors are mostly families, so we try not to make too much noise when the trucks come to pick up the goods. We’ve got a dog that hangs around the entrance; he doesn't do much but sleep in the shade. It’s not a high-pressure environment, but we have our busy seasons when we’re working late into the night. We don't have any big goals of becoming a giant company; we just want to keep things running smoothly and keep our customers from complaining. It’s just how we do things here. We keep our paperwork in folders and try not to lose them.
