Down here at 74 Kovalur Main Road in Lalgudi, things start moving pretty early at Namdhari Agro Fresh Pvt Ltd. Usually, the air smells like fresh earth or whatever produce just came off the back of a truck. We spend a lot of time sorting through crates and making sure everything is handled right. It is a messy job sometimes, especially when the mud from the fields ends up on the floor. We aren't a big corporate office with glass walls; we’re a warehouse and packing space where people wear boots and heavy gloves. The fans are always humming to keep the air moving, but it still gets plenty warm during the summer months. We deal with farmers and transporters all day long. There’s a lot of shouting back and forth to get the loading done quickly. You won't find any polished furniture here, just wooden pallets and plastic bins stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and moving stuff around until your back is tired. Lalgudi is a place where people know the value of hard work, and we fit right in with that. Sometimes we have a quiet moment in the late afternoon once the trucks have left, but usually, it is just a constant stream of activity from start to finish. We just focus on the task at hand.
