Our place is situated at No. 11/158 on Poosari House Street, which is in the village of Porunthalur. We are out in the Kulithalai part of Karur district. The company is called Karur Navathaniyangal Agri Producer Company Limited, and as the name suggests, we focus a lot on the different grains that grow so well in our local soil. The office is basically a house that we’ve turned into a workspace, so it has a very lived-in feel to it. You won’t find any cubicles or fancy computers here, just some sturdy tables and people who know their way around a field. Being in Porunthalur, we are right in the middle of the farming community, which is exactly where we need to be. We deal with all sorts of grains and help the local farmers get their produce sorted and ready. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when we expect it, and that’s all anyone talks about on Poosari House Street for a week. We’re just a small operation trying to help out the folks in the 621313 zip code. It’s a lot of manual record-keeping and phone calls to find buyers. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who grew up around here and wanted to do something useful for our neighbors. It’s basic, honest work, and we’re quite proud of the small progress we make each season.
