We have been operating out of No. 1 Telnguchetty Street for quite some time now. It is a busy little spot, mostly just us moving heavy boxes around and making sure everything is labeled right before it heads out. People usually find us because they need something sent overseas and they know we have the floor space to handle it. The building itself isn't much to look at from the outside, but it works perfectly for what we do every day. We spend a good chunk of our time on the phone or checking through long lists of inventory. Sometimes the traffic on the street gets backed up during the afternoons, which makes loading the delivery trucks a real headache. My cousin started helping out around here last year when things got more hectic than usual. We mostly deal with smaller batches of goods, so there is a lot of paperwork involved. I try to keep my desk organized, but it never stays that way for more than an hour or two. If you happen to walk by, you will probably see us drinking tea near the front entrance during a break. We are not doing anything fancy or high-tech here. It is just Ashwin Exports, and we try to get the orders out on time so nobody has to call us to complain. Sometimes the rain gets in under the warehouse door, and we have to scramble to move the pallets. It is just the way it goes in an old place like this. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the daily routine well.
