V K Handicrafts

Started the workshop at Plot No. 100 years ago. It’s right in the middle of Huda Industrial Area, Sector 29. The morning starts with the sound of the shutters going up. It’s usually dusty outside because of the trucks moving up and down the road, but we get used to it. Inside, things are a bit messy. We’ve got wood scraps and metal bits lying around the corners. Usually, there are about six of us working here daily. Some guys focus on the finishing while others do the heavy cutting. We drink a lot of tea from the stall around the corner just to keep going when it gets hot in the afternoons. The fans don't do much when the sun hits the tin roof, but the work has to happen. V K Handicrafts isn't a fancy place with a lobby or anything like that. People just walk in through the main gate and find us near the back machines. We don't have a big office, just a small desk where the bills get sorted out under a heavy paperweight. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the stools for a bit, talking about the weather or the price of materials. It’s a simple routine, day after day. We just try to make things that look decent and stay together. It’s not about being perfect, it’s just about getting the orders packed and ready by evening.
