Great Handi

We are located out on Kaithal Road in Karnal, right across from the New Police Lines. It’s a good spot because a lot of trucks and cars pass by on their way in or out of the city. The name comes from the big pots we use for a lot of our cooking. It’s a pretty open place, not one of those sealed-up air-conditioned boxes. You can see the road from the front and hear the traffic all day long. The wind blows the dust in sometimes, so we are constantly dusting the chairs. We get a lot of police officers coming over since their station is just across the road, and they usually want something quick and filling. The kitchen has these big burners that stay on for hours. It’s a lot of heavy lifting with the handis and making sure the fire is just right. We don’t have a fancy decor, just some sturdy tables and chairs that can handle a lot of use. People in 132001 know this road well, and we’ve become a bit of a landmark for those looking for a meal before heading further down the highway. We spend most of our time prepping vegetables or tending to the slow-cooking pots. It’s a lot of routine work, but we like the rhythm of it. There is always someone coming or going, and the tea is always brewing in the back.
