You can find us in Mahavati Village, which is just near Samalkha in the Panipat district. It is a pretty quiet spot for the most part, away from all the noise of the main highway. Mahindra School Of Education is where the local village children come for their daily lessons. It is a humble place, and we don't pretend it is anything else. We have a few classrooms and a small courtyard in the middle where the kids gather for assembly. The air is a bit fresher out here than in the city, which is something we all appreciate. Most of our staff live in the village or very close by, so they just walk to work every morning. We don't have any air conditioning or fancy cooling systems, just some old ceiling fans that hum and click all day long. During the harvest season, we notice that some kids stay home to help their families in the fields, which is just how life goes in a place like this. We try to keep them focused on their books as much as possible when they are in class. The walls of the rooms are decorated with charts and drawings that the students have made themselves over the term. The front gate squeaks quite a bit when you open it, and we really should get around to oiling it one of these days. We just focus on the basics of education, and we’ve been doing this for several years now.
