Kidzee School

Our school is over in Model Town, Karnal, specifically at 114- L. It’s a nice enough neighborhood, usually pretty quiet except for when the school bus arrives. Kidzee is where the local kids from around the 132001 zip code come for their early years. We have a front gate that we keep locked during the day for safety. Inside, it’s mostly what you’d expect from a place for little children. There are posters of animals and the alphabet pinned up on the boards. The floor has those foam mats so nobody gets hurt if they trip. We have a routine that we follow every day, starting with a little prayer and some exercise. The teachers spend a lot of time wiping sticky hands and helping kids find their water bottles. It’s not always organized perfectly, but we try our best to keep things moving. Sometimes a kid loses a shoe or forgets their sweater, and it ends up in the lost and found box for a week. We have a small slide in the back, but only a few kids can go on it at once. In the afternoons, the street gets crowded with rickshaws and cars waiting for the children. It’s a fast-paced hour, and then the building goes completely silent until the next morning. It’s just a normal part of life here in Model Town for all of us who work here.
