Rajesh Dairy Farm

Rajesh Dairy Farm is basically just our family and our animals here in Kheri Naru. It’s quiet out this way compared to the city. We wake up early, usually before the sun is even up, to get things started. There is always a lot of cleaning and feeding to do. We don't have some big corporate office or a marketing team. It’s just the shed and the fields. People from around the village come by to get what they need. We’ve been doing this for a long time now. My father started with just a couple of cows and we just kept going with it. It’s hard work and there are no holidays when you have animals to look after. They don't care if it's a Sunday or a festival day. The weather really affects us too. When it rains too much the yard gets muddy and everything takes twice as long. We aren't trying to be the biggest dairy around. We just want to make sure the animals are healthy and the milk is good. It’s a simple life and we like it that way. Kheri Naru is a small place where everyone knows everyone else. We just do our part and keep things moving every day. Sometimes we have to stay up all night if one of the cows is sick. It's tiring but it's our life. We grow some of the fodder ourselves in the nearby patch of land. It saves some money and we know it's clean for the cattle.
