Down here in Karnal, at 753 New Prem Nagar, we run India Dairy Farm. It’s been a part of our daily life for as long as I can remember. Running a dairy isn’t something you can do half-heartedly. The day starts way before the sun comes up, and it doesn't really end until late at night. We have the cattle to look after, making sure they are fed and healthy, and then there’s all the cleaning and the milking. It’s physical work, and your hands get rough, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that feels right. We aren't some big industrial factory. We are just a local farm providing milk to the people around here. People come by the gate to pick up what they need, or we send it out. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, like when the rains are too heavy and the yard gets muddy, but we manage. We’ve lived in this part of Karnal forever, so we know everyone on the street. It’s nice when neighbors stop for a chat while we’re working. The equipment we use is simple and we keep it clean, because that’s what matters most with dairy. There aren't any fancy labels or marketing tricks here. You get exactly what the cows give us. It’s a simple life, and while it’s tiring, we wouldn't really know what else to do with our time. We wake up when it's still dark to start the first round.
