Our shop is number 8 in the Gurudwara Market in Model Town. Model Town is a nice area of Karnal. It is a bit more relaxed than the busy city center. Being in the Gurudwara Market means there are always people around, especially on the weekends. Our office is small. We have a front counter and a couple of computers we use for bookings. There is a calendar from three years ago still hanging on the back wall because we like the picture of the beach on it. We handle a lot of local tours and some international ones too. People come in after they finish their shopping or after visiting the Gurudwara. We sit down and talk about where they want to go. It is not a corporate office. It feels more like sitting in someone’s living room, just with more paper and maps. The air conditioner is a bit loud, but it works well enough in the summer. We have had some of the same customers for over ten years now. They come to us because they know where we are and they know we will just tell them the price straight. We do not do big advertising campaigns. Word of mouth works just fine for us. Sometimes we have a backlog of emails to get through, but we eventually get to them all. It is a steady pace and we do not try to rush things. We usually keep some sweets on the desk.
