We are over here at Marla Chowk, right on Jattal Road at No. 38/28. Most days it is pretty loud because the looms are running and there is always someone coming in to check on their orders. We have been in Marla for a long time now. The shop isn't fancy or anything, just a place where we get the work done. Sometimes the threads get tangled or the power goes out, but that is just how it is working with handlooms. We spend a lot of time sitting and checking the patterns. You can find us easily because we are near the number 8 mark. It gets dusty with all the cotton flying around, but we are used to it by now. People from around the neighborhood stop by to chat while we work. We don't have a big office, just the workspace and some chairs for when folks want to sit down. My hands are usually a bit stained from the dyes we use. It is hard work, especially when the weather gets hot, but we keep the fans going. We have been part of this street for years. The building is a bit old, but it holds everything we need to keep the looms moving. We just focus on getting the fabric right and making sure the measurements are what people asked for. It’s just us here most days. It gets a bit dark in the back of the shop too.
