Taj Fruit Company

Taj Fruit Company has been a part of the Kashmir Gadda area in Karimnagar for quite some time. Our address is 7-4-396, and if you come by early in the morning, you will see us unloading crates and sorting through whatever came in on the trucks overnight. The fruit business is all about timing, so our days start long before the sun is up. It is a wet and sticky kind of job sometimes, especially when dealing with overripe produce or washing down the floors. The air always smells like a mix of sweet mangoes, citrus, or whatever is in season at the moment. We have a lot of crates stacked up high, and it can be a bit of a struggle to move them around when the space gets tight. We talk to a lot of different people, from the farmers who bring the fruit to the local vendors who buy from us to sell in the smaller markets. It is a lot of haggling and checking the quality of every batch. We do not have any fancy displays; it is just fruit in boxes and people moving fast to get things sold before the heat of the day ruins the stock. Our hands are usually stained from the fruit skins, and we spend a lot of time sweeping up leaves and straw. It is honest, basic work that keeps the town fed with fresh stuff.
