If you go up towards the Panbari Radio Centre in Diphu, you will find us. Karbi Anglong Agri-Horti Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at Kurusar Timung’s place. We are part of the Lumbajong Block, and it is a beautiful, hilly area to work in. This part of Karbi Anglong has some of the best soil for fruits and vegetables, so we decided to pool our resources. It is much better than trying to do everything alone in these hills. We spend most of our time out in the orchards or the vegetable patches, seeing how things are growing. The office at the Radio Centre is more of a meeting point where we drink tea and plan out the next month. We don't have a lot of money for big equipment, so we do a lot of things the old-fashioned way. It is hard work, especially when the slopes are slippery after a heavy rain. Kurusar keeps the records and makes sure we are all on the same page. We are just local farmers who want to see our community do well. There is no corporate ladder here, just a bunch of neighbors helping each other out with their crops. We know every inch of this land and what grows best in which corner. It is a quiet life, mostly dictated by the seasons and the sun. We wouldn't have it any other way, despite the long hours.
