South Indian Rice Trading Company

Our place, South Indian Rice Trading Company, is situated right over at Chettikulam Junction in Nagercoil. Specifically, we are at No: 15/9 on S.T. Hindu College Road. It’s a busy spot with plenty of traffic passing by throughout the day. We’ve been trading rice from this location for quite some time now. The office is small, and we spend most of our time dealing with the logistics of moving sacks from one place to another. It isn't a glamorous job, just a lot of counting and checking and making sure the orders are straight. We see a lot of faces coming through the door, some old regulars and some new people just passing through the junction. The humidity here in Nagercoil can be a bit much, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things run as they should. We don't do much advertising; most people just know where we are because we’ve been here so long near the college road. It’s a straightforward business. We buy, we sell, and we try to keep the warehouse in some kind of order. Sometimes the trucks get delayed, and we have to wait around, but that is just part of the trade. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily grind here in Chettikulam. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it a long time. It can get loud with the street traffic, but we don't mind.
