Raffin Flour Mill

Raffin Flour Mill is situated over at 19/2 in Arumanai. It is a small, local operation, and we do not try to make it seem like anything else. The building is simple, and the main thing inside is the machinery we use every day. It has that specific smell of grain and old metal that you find in places like this. We start our mornings by checking the power and getting the motors started. Arumanai is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else, so we spend a fair bit of time just talking to the folks who stop by. We do not have a website or a fancy sign; the neighbors just know we are here. The work is physical and can be quite tiring, especially when there are heavy sacks to move around. We have had the same machines for a long time, and we know exactly how they sound when they are running right and when they need a little bit of attention. It is a bit dusty, and the floor needs sweeping a lot, but it is our daily routine. We do not have a big staff, so we do everything ourselves, from the grinding to the cleaning to the bookkeeping. It is a quiet way to earn a living, away from the big city noise. We are happy just keeping the mill going and seeing the same friendly faces at the door every week. It is just a normal life.
