Legato Music Academy

We are located right opposite the Government Boys School in Marthandam, which is down in the Kanyakumari district. It is a pretty easy place to spot once you are in that area of town. The academy is where we teach different kinds of instruments and singing to anyone who wants to learn. You can usually hear a bit of a mess of sounds when you walk in—maybe someone practicing the violin in one room and a piano student in another. It is not a fancy studio, just a regular space where we have our instruments and benches set up. We get quite a few students from the school across the road once their classes finish for the day. The atmosphere is fairly relaxed, though it can get a bit hectic when we have a lot of students at the same time. We do not have any big corporate goals; we just like music and want to help the local kids and adults learn a bit of it too. The teachers here are just local musicians who know their stuff and show up every day to share what they know. Marthandam is a busy little place, and we are glad to be part of the community here. We spend our time tuning instruments, scheduling lessons, and occasionally cleaning up the place. It is a simple, honest way to spend the day, and we enjoy the noise and the rhythm of the academy and seeing people learn.
