Jothi Nursery & Primary School

We are located right on South Car Street in Vadiveeswaram. Most people around Kottar know where we are because we’ve been here for a good while now. It’s a busy part of Nagercoil but once you step inside our gates, it feels a bit different. We have children coming in from all the nearby streets every morning. Some walk with their parents and others come on the little rickshaws. The building isn't brand new or anything like those fancy modern places you see in the bigger cities. It is just a regular place where kids spend their day. You can hear the teachers talking and the children playing during their breaks. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when everyone is out in the yard, but that is just how it is with a primary school. We don't have a huge staff, just local people who live around here and know the families. Our rooms are simple with wooden desks and charts on the walls that the kids made. It’s mostly about getting through the lessons and making sure everyone is safe until their parents pick them up in the afternoon. The rainy season makes things a bit messy on the street outside, but we manage. It’s a quiet life here most days, apart from the school bell ringing every hour. We just keep doing what we do, year after year, without much fuss.
