Verma Sons is situated at 109/280 in R. K. Nagar. It is a quiet residential neighborhood, so we don't get the heavy traffic of the main market. The shop has been in our family for three generations now. It started with my grandfather, and not much has changed since his time. We have the same wooden counters and the old metal shutters that always get stuck halfway when you try to pull them down. It’s a small, cozy space where we sell everyday items to the people living nearby. We know almost everyone who walks in by their first name. It’s not just about the business; it’s about the community here. We often spend more time talking about local news or the weather than we do actually selling things. There’s a cat that lives in the alley behind us and she often comes in to sit on the sacks of grain. We don't mind her at all. We don't have any big advertisements or corporate branding. We just have a small sign above the door that says Verma Sons. In the afternoons, we usually close for a couple of hours to go home for lunch and a short nap. It’s a slow and steady way of living. We don't have fancy lights or polished floors, just a simple shop where we do things the old-fashioned way. We are happy being a part of R. K. Nagar and serving our neighbors every day, just like my father and grandfather did before me.
