The Education Era

The Education Era is based in Kanpur, specifically in the 208002 zip code area. It’s a busy part of the city with a lot of movement and noise. We’ve set up our center here to be accessible for students coming from different parts of the neighborhood. The space we have is quite modest and tucked away from the main noise. We have a few rooms with tables and chairs that we arranged ourselves. I started this because I saw a need for a place where students could get some extra help without it being too expensive or formal. It’s a very straightforward operation. I’m usually there from morning until late evening most days of the week. We cover the main subjects that kids have in school. Kanpur is a city where people work hard, and we try to match that energy here in our small way. The walls are a plain color and we don't have any big signs or neon lights to attract attention. People just know where we are by word of mouth. We use standard textbooks and sometimes print out some extra practice sheets on our old printer. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We know our students by name and know which subjects they find difficult. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to help kids get their work done so they can do well in their exams. It’s a simple, practical way to help the community. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
