Stepco Chappals

We are Stepco Chappals, and you can find us at 19/14 A Aagha Kothi in the Ramnarain Bazar area. The bazar is always full of people looking for deals, and it can be quite a struggle to navigate the crowds sometimes. Our workshop and shop are inside Aagha Kothi. It is an old building that has seen a lot of years. We mostly focus on making chappals, so the place usually has that specific smell of rubber and synthetic materials. It is a very hands-on job. We have a few guys who have been with us for a long time, sitting and working on the soles and straps. It’s not a shiny showroom. It’s more of a workspace where stuff actually gets made. We have stacks of boxes piled up near the entrance and tools scattered on the workbenches. Ramnarain Bazar is a good place for a business like ours because everyone comes here for footwear. We don't do much in terms of advertising; people just know we are here in the Kothi. The light inside isn't the best, so we use a lot of tube lights to see what we are doing. It’s a simple, honest living. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It is just us and our work, day in and day out. We just keep making the chappals one by one and hope the weather stays clear so people keep coming to the bazar.
