Balaji Textile

Balaji Textile is situated at No. 49/28-A in General Ganj. This is a very old and crowded market area, and we have been a part of it for a long time now. Our shop is packed with fabric from the floor to the ceiling. We have rolls of cloth stacked everywhere you look. It always smells like cotton and dye in here. We spend most of our time measuring out lengths of fabric and cutting them for whoever comes in. It's a lot of standing and moving around all day. We aren't a big fancy boutique or a modern store. It's more of a warehouse feel where people come to get what they need for sewing projects or for their own small shops. The lanes in General Ganj are very narrow, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze to get around with the carts and people. We know all the other textile sellers nearby. We often share tea and talk about how the market is doing lately. We don't have a big marketing budget or a social media page to show off. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here at No. 49/28-A for years and people know our faces. The lighting inside is a bit dim, but we can tell the feel of a fabric just by touching it. It’s a simple, honest business. We just keep our heads down and do our work.
