Kashap General Store

Kashap General Store is located right in Pahalwan Purwa Colony, specifically at plots 19 and 20. Being in Azad Nagar, Kanpur, means we see a lot of the same faces every day, which is nice. We started this shop because the area needed a place where you could grab basic groceries without going too far. It’s a straightforward setup. We have pulses, spices, some toiletries, and the usual snacks the kids like. Kanpur can get pretty dusty and hot, so we try to keep the shop cool enough for people to step in and look around. It’s a family-run thing, so someone is always around to help find a specific brand of tea or flour. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the city, just a reliable one for the people living right here in the colony. Sometimes we run out of things if the truck is late, but we usually get it back in a day or two. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed in the same spot. It’s a lot of work keeping everything organized on the shelves, especially during the festive seasons when everyone is in a rush. We just do our best to keep things moving and make sure nobody leaves empty-handed if they need something important for their kitchen that day. Most of our evenings are spent restocking for the next morning. It is a humble life, but it keeps us going.
