Economic Footwear

You can find Economic Footwear over at Safia House in Chaman Ganj. The address is 88/508-A. It is a busy neighborhood and there is always something going on outside our door. We sell shoes, plain and simple. We’ve got rows of them stacked up in boxes that reach almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have more than three customers in the shop at once. We don't have a fancy cooling system, just a few ceiling fans that wobble a little when they are on high. The floor is linoleum and it’s seen better days. I’ve been working here since I was a teenager. We know most of the people who walk past. It’s a local spot. We don't do big sales or flashy posters. People come here because they know we have what they need for a fair price. We spend our time unpacking shipments and helping people find their size. Sometimes we have to hunt through the back room to find a matching left shoe. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us. We have a small wooden bench where people can sit and try things on. The light inside is a bit dim, but it’s homey. We just keep doing what we do every day without much fuss. It is a decent way to spend the day.
