K. G. Shoe Exports is based at 79 B Dada Nagar. We are quite close to the Coffee Center, which is a landmark everyone around here knows. Our building is a simple one, and the sign is a bit faded from the sun. Inside, the main thing you notice is the smell of leather and glue. It’s a strong scent that stays with you. We have been making and exporting shoes from this location for many years. The floors are concrete and there are piles of shoe soles and leather hides in the corners. It is a noisy place when the machines are running, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard. We don't have a showroom for people to browse. It’s more of a production house. We have a few guys who have been cutting leather here since they were young. We don't go for fancy marketing or polished brochures. We just show the shoes to whoever needs to see them. Most of our business comes from people who have known us for a long time. Dada Nagar is a tough, hardworking area, and we fit right in. Sometimes we sit outside near the entrance when it’s time for a tea break. We just focus on the quality of the stitching and making sure the boxes are packed right for the journey. It is a basic, no-nonsense setup near the center of the town and we like it that way.
