We run this computer academy out in Kalyanpur, Kanpur. The address is Ews-3001 in the Awas Vikas area. It’s a straightforward setup where we teach people how to use computers and different software. We have a row of PCs that we’ve put together over time. Some are newer than others, but they all get the job done. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it’s pretty calm most of the time. We see a lot of local kids and some adults who want to learn basic typing or how to use the internet for their work. It’s a small operation. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know our way around a motherboard and some code. The office is basically just one big room with desks along the walls. We’ve had to fix the wiring a few times, but that’s just part of running a place with so many machines. People in Kalyanpur know where we are. We aren't trying to be some high-tech giant. We just want to make sure folks around here know how to use a keyboard. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting software or helping someone figure out a spreadsheet. It’s a useful thing to do. We usually have some tea going in the corner. It’s a relaxed environment, not like those strict schools you see in the movies. We keep the doors open when the weather is nice.
