Pavag Spices Llp is based in Civil Lines, specifically at 306 Krishna Nagar, 15/63 in Kanpur. If you walk into our place, the first thing you notice is the smell. It’s strong and stays in your clothes all day. We deal with all sorts of spices, so there’s a lot of grinding and mixing going on. Sometimes the dust makes us sneeze, but we’re used to it. The building is an old one in a historic part of Kanpur. It has high ceilings but the rooms are a bit small and dark. We have bags of peppers and turmeric stacked up against the walls. We spend our time weighing things out and sealing them into smaller bags. It’s a manual process for the most part. We don't have high-tech robots or anything like that. Just some scales and our own hands. Civil Lines is a busy area, so there’s always noise from the street coming through the windows. We drink a lot of water because of the spices in the air. We aren't looking to become a global company. We just like the business of spices and being part of the Kanpur market. We have a small corner where we keep our coats and lunch boxes. It’s a simple, honest life working with products that have been around forever. We just do our bit and keep the spice trade moving along as best as we can.
