Vis Exports Private Limited is tucked away in Azhikkal, at the Mulloli House in Nuchithod. It’s a part of Kannur that we’ve grown quite fond of. We are an export company, which means we spend a lot of our time dealing with crates and shipping containers. The office is right here in the house, which makes it feel a bit more personal than those big office blocks in the city. We don’t have a HR department or anything like that. It’s just us working through the lists and making sure the cargo is ready. Kannur is a great place to be if you’re into exporting because people around here understand hard work. We mostly deal with local goods that people elsewhere want. It’s a lot of logistics and timing. Sometimes we have to wait for the weather to clear up before things can move. We don’t use any polished marketing talk. We just tell people what we can do and then we do it. It’s a bit messy sometimes, with papers everywhere and the phone ringing while someone is trying to eat lunch. But we get the job done. We like the local vibe of Nuchithod and being part of the community here. It’s a steady business and we plan on staying here for a long time. It suits us just fine to work this way.
